In 2014, the Fields Medal was awarded to the Iranian Maryam Mirzakhani. For the first time in history, the highest honor in mathematics was bestowed upon a woman. To celebrate Mirzakhani’s work as well as the achievements of other female mathematicians, the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) inaugurated the exhibition »1st Ladies of Mathematics. Lives—Achievements—Passions«.

ItYt developed a series of nine posters portraying four female pioneers in mathematics. The lives and achievements of these outstanding personalities are visualized through typographical representations of biographical data, unknown anecdotes and exhibits as well as mathematical formulas.
